Thousands of people travel from Orange County and Los Angeles County to golf eighteen holes in the Inland Empire.  In this blog, we’ll explore the seven best golf courses in the region, each offering a unique blend of natural beauty and top-notch golfing experiences.

Golf Courses Reviewed:

1. Oak Quarry Golf Course

Location: Riverside, CA

Oak Quarry Golf Club stands as a testament to the harmonious coexistence of golf and nature. Carved into the remnants of a historic quarry, this championship course features dramatic elevation changes, water challenges, and strategically placed bunkers. Golfers are treated to panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, making each round a visual feast. The course’s challenging layout demands precision and strategy, ensuring a memorable golfing experience.

2.  Fairmount Golf Course

Location:  Riverside

Fairmount Golf Course is a hidden gem that is located near downtown Riverside.  The course is a 9-hole public course that is 3218 yards from the longest tees.  The fairways and greens are neatly manicured.  The course is relatively flat and is ideal for the golf enthusiast who desires to walk.   If you are a person who likes to golf frequently at an economical price, I would strongly suggest looking into golfing at Fairmount Park.  The green fees are the cheapest in the area.  If you are a senior resident and chose to walk you can do so for under $13.00.  In addition to the golf course, the practice facilities are more than adequate to suit your needs.

3.  General Old Golf Course

Location:  Riverside

The public course is adjacent to March Air Force Reserve Base.  Named after U.S. Military General Archie J. Old, General Old Golf Course offers 6801 yards of golfing heaven.  Overall, the course is pretty straightforward however the fairways are long.  The course has several hazards (trees and bare dirt open areas) that can make your golfing experience a challenge.  Overall, the course is in decent shape and the price to pay golf at general old is fairly inexpensive.  General Old Golf Course offers excellent practicing facilities from hitting balls to putting and chipping.  The course has a lot of open space to suit all of your needs.

4.  Rancho Del Sol Golf Course

Location:  Moreno Valley, CA

Rancho del Sol is my favorite golf course in the Inland Empire.  This golf course is a Pete Dye designed course that has several hazards.  The front nine holes are surrounded by a lake and by several homes.  The back nine holes are referred to as the “Mountain” nine.  These nine holes offer beautiful views of the San Bernardino Mountains and elevated city views.  The golf course does not have practice facilities however there is an area to practice putting.  As far as pricing is concerned, the course charges a very good green fee of $45.00 for a round of golf with a cart during the week days.  The is an excellent price for a championship quality golf course.
